A Wago PLC, designed and programmed by me, controls the whole wheelhouse system.
Using the buttons on the console on deck, you can select the mechanical operation, choosing which gear to use, or operation assisted.
In the latter case, a hydraulic system of the 10 kW power provides the energy necessary for a fast response combined with a low force control request to the wheel.
The steering position on the wheel is acquired by using an optical encoder, which provides excellent accuracy and a long life.
