Over the years, I have worked with some vocational schools in the field of plumbing and heating, electricity and electronics.
I firmly believe in the need to provide children the values real and tangible: it's important to provide information in order to understand the arguments concerning the work, but also communicate the passion for creating objects and elegance in the work, which are the conditions to get pleasure and satisfaction from their work.
My greatest satisfaction is to meet, after years, my former students, and see them master their job competently. I know that only a small portion of their capacity derive from my teachings, and that they have purchased their skills on the field, but I like to think I helped by seeding the pride for their work that marks a good craftsman.
We need to understand and master the established technologies, and use that knowledge to exploit the opportunities offered by new technologies.
